Jewel is a beautiful smart 14 year old palomino mare, in need of a confident, more experienced rider. She was purchased from Glenn Stewart in hopes that she would be the best horse for a 14 yr old girl. When Jewel was purchased, she never had a bit in her mouth (Glenn Stewart uses the Natural Rope Hackamore) She rode her regularly from 2012 to 2014 but she found that Jewel was just too much horse for her skill level. In 2014 Jewel was purchased by the Hawkins Ranch for their daughter but she moved to Toronto for school and Jewel then became a broodmare at our ranch. Jewel is a very solid well built, 14.3hh, and is the most pleasant horse to have around. Having the pro Natural Horsemanship background, her ground manners are near perfect! She has no problems with being dewormed, taking shots, standing for the farrier, being tied to the trailer, and can walk in and out of the trailer without a second thought. When we ride her on the farm, we use a halter and two leads only. She is such a quick learner and very forgiving. She wants to be your friend. Jewel needs a calm, gentle partner with at least some knowledge of natural horsemanship. It would be great to see her go to someone who can appreciate where she has come from. While at the Hawkins ranch, Jewel has produced 3 palomino foals. They are usually the first to be purchased becasue of their confirmation, pedigree, color. She is an easy keeper, no vices or bad habits, quiet on the ground and easy to bathe and clip. She has never forgotten her early training with Glenn.
